Come Celebrate the opening of 3 exciting new exhibits at Hartley Nature Center on Sunday May 17th from 1-3pm. The event will allow for exhibit exploration for the first 30 minutes, then transition to informational sessions where you can learn more about the projects these exhibits highlight. Finally, event participants can go on a hike to project sites to see what work is being done to help steward Hartley Park.

This temporary exhibit by local artist Monica Ihrke highlights invasive species that are common in our region, while providing valuable information about why they are problematic, and what can be done to manage them.
Living With Fire: Connecting with our Fire Dependent Landscape | May 17th-October 14th
This temporary exhibit, created in partnership between UMD and Dovetail Partners, explores the history of fire in Northern Minnesota, including the destructive nature of wildfire, and the restorative power of prescribed burns.
Hartley’s Woods & Waters | May 17th
This new permanent exhibit highlights Hartley’s woodlands and waterways, exploring the history of use, threats they face, and the work being done to ensure Hartley Park remains a healthy natural area for future generations.
